Many diehard MSNBC fans tuned out after the election of Donald Trump. For me, It just became to too hard to have to listen to all the analysis of what happened, Monday-morning quarter-backing and shit. My mental health was fragile and there was no way I would be able to hear his name or see his face everyday throughout the day. The shock of that day is wearing off a bit, but we still have to get through inauguration day. #goodgrief

To get through these next couple of years, I will not be focusing on mainstream and cable news media. I will use independent journalism, reputable print journalism, and actively research organizations and institutions to follow what’s going on in Congress in real time. Here are a few of my favorite sources for information:
- govtrack.us (for Votes in Congress)
- congress.gov (current legislative activity)
- apnews.com (reputable news source for political news)
- reuters.com (U.S. news and top headlines)
